Halloween 2026

Help Jack with his hunts, open the Halloween Festival and go down into the Haunted Cellar.

RevivalRO Freya · Halloween 2026

At a glance

Halloween has come to Prontera. Step through the red gate, help Jack with his hunts, earn two key cards and go down into the Haunted Cellar. This guide shows how everything works right now.

The road to the Haunted Cellar

Everything starts with Jack. Each step opens the next one. Jack's quests below show every quest as it reads in your quest window, and the maps show where to go.

Step 1: Enter Halloween Prontera

Prontera, the red gate at (156, 183)

Walk into the red gate. Jack waits for you in Halloween Prontera at (164, 199). He hands out the tasks, one at a time.
Step 2: Jack's Halloween Festival tasks

Niflheim Christmas, through the south gate of Halloween Prontera (156, 28)

Defeat 3000 Purple Zombiering, then 2400 Plant Soul, then 1500 Fiend. Last, bring Jack a Wyvern King Key Card. When a Wyvern King falls, you and every member of your party close by who is on this task each have a 4% chance at it; the other three monsters give one very rarely. Jack marks the three Wyvern King lairs on your mini-map when you arrive in Niflheim Christmas.

Reward: Jack opens the Halloween Festival for you, for good.

Wyvern King Key Card
Step 3: Jack's Water Dungeon Hunt

Jack on the Halloween Festival (60, 123); the purple gate at (61, 40)

Walk south over the stars to the purple gate into the Water Dungeon. Defeat 3000 Emission Bat, then 2400 Reaper, then 1500 The Unknown. Last, bring a Water Dungeon Key Card: step into the dark water in the far north-west corner (35, 233) to call up the Cave Monster, and defeat it, alone or with friends. The card goes to whoever lands the last blow if that is the player who called it up or a party member who is on this task too, and otherwise to the player who called it up.

Reward: the Haunted Cellar opens for you.

Water Dungeon Key Card
Step 4: Into the Haunted Cellar

The Death Witch on the Halloween Festival (44, 125)

Gather your party. Your party leader pays 200 Pumpkin Coins to open the cellar, and stepping in is free. The Haunted Cellar and final hall sections below show what waits inside.

Good to know

Report back to Jack when a task is done: he hands you the next one right away.
Your quest window shows how many monsters are left. Only kills made while the task is active count, and party members close by share them.
Jack draws the way to the next gate on your mini-map.
The dark water can hold up to 5 Cave Monsters at once, one for each player who calls one up. Each character wins one Water Dungeon Key Card: once you have it, the water stays still for you until you hand it in, even when the card is in your storage.
Key cards are personal: they cannot be traded, dropped, sold or mailed, or put in a cart or guild storage. Your personal storage keeps them safe, and any character of your account can take them out of it.
On the Halloween Festival, the Pumpkin Guide (68, 109) explains the whole event in short pages, marks the festival's NPCs and gates on your mini-map and links to this page.

The Halloween Festival

Jack in Halloween Prontera (164, 199) gives these one at a time.

Quest 1 of 4

Halloween Festival (1/4) - Purple Zombiering

Defeat 3000 Purple Zombiering

Jack in Halloween Prontera (164, 199) only opens the Halloween Festival to brave souls who finish his four tasks. The festival has more hunts, Catrina's costume shop and the Death Witch's Haunted Cellar.

Task 1: defeat 3000 Purple Zombiering in Niflheim Christmas. Leave Halloween Prontera through its south gate (156, 28) to get there.

Only kills made while this task is active count; party members close by share them. Report back to Jack when the count is full.

The monsters there also give Pumpkin Coins and Halloween Coins 2026, straight into your bag. Keep them: they are spent on the festival.

Needs: Nothing: every character can start.
Gives: Task 2, right away.
Repeat: No: once per character.

Quest 2 of 4

Halloween Festival (2/4) - Plant Soul

Defeat 2400 Plant Soul

Task 2 for Jack in Halloween Prontera (164, 199): defeat 2400 Plant Soul in Niflheim Christmas. Leave Halloween Prontera through its south gate (156, 28) to get there.

Report back to Jack when the count is full.

Gives: Task 3, right away.
Repeat: No: once per character.

Quest 3 of 4

Halloween Festival (3/4) - Fiend

Defeat 1500 Fiend

Task 3 for Jack in Halloween Prontera (164, 199): defeat 1500 Fiend in Niflheim Christmas. Leave Halloween Prontera through its south gate (156, 28) to get there.

Needs: Task 2 done.
Gives: Task 4, right away.
Repeat: No: once per character.

Quest 4 of 4

Halloween Festival (4/4) - Wyvern King Key Card

Bring 1 Wyvern King Key Card

Last task for Jack in Halloween Prontera (164, 199): bring him one Wyvern King Key Card.

When one of the three Wyvern Kings of Niflheim Christmas falls, you and every member of your party close by who is on this task each have your own chance at it (about one in twenty-five). They live around (117, 247), (305, 63) and (254, 184) and rise again within a minute. The other monsters there drop it very rarely. Leave Halloween Prontera through its south gate (156, 28) to get there. The card cannot be traded, so win your own.

Once Jack has the card, the Halloween Festival is open to you for good.

Needs: Task 3 done.
Gives: The Halloween Festival, open to you for good. Jack keeps the card.
Repeat: No: once per character.

The Water Dungeon Hunt

Once the Festival is open, Jack waits for you there (60, 123) with four more quests. Finishing them opens the Haunted Cellar.

Quest 1 of 4

Water Dungeon Hunt (1/4) - Emission Bat

Defeat 3000 Emission Bat

Jack on the Halloween Festival (60, 123) needs a brave soul to calm the restless spirits of the Water Dungeon.

Task 1: defeat 3000 Emission Bat in the Water Dungeon. Walk south over the stars on the Halloween Festival to the purple gate (61, 40); it leads into the Water Dungeon.

Only kills made while this task is active count; party members close by share them. Report back to Jack when the count is full.

Finish all four tasks and the Death Witch (44, 125) lets you into her Haunted Cellar: a party dungeon for levels 90 to 275 that your party leader opens with 200 Pumpkin Coins.

Needs: The Halloween Festival open to you (the first four tasks).
Gives: Task 2, right away.
Repeat: No: once per character.

Quest 2 of 4

Water Dungeon Hunt (2/4) - Reaper

Defeat 2400 Reaper

Task 2 for Jack on the Halloween Festival (60, 123): defeat 2400 Reaper in the Water Dungeon. Walk south over the stars on the Halloween Festival to the purple gate (61, 40); it leads into the Water Dungeon.

Only kills made while this task is active count; party members close by share them. Report back to Jack when the count is full.

Needs: Task 1 done.
Gives: Task 3, right away.
Repeat: No: once per character.

Quest 3 of 4

Water Dungeon Hunt (3/4) - The Unknown

Defeat 1500 The Unknown

Task 3 for Jack on the Halloween Festival (60, 123): defeat 1500 The Unknown in the Water Dungeon. Walk south over the stars on the Halloween Festival to the purple gate (61, 40); it leads into the Water Dungeon.

Only kills made while this task is active count; party members close by share them. Report back to Jack when the count is full.

Needs: Task 2 done.
Gives: Task 4, right away.
Repeat: No: once per character.

Quest 4 of 4

Water Dungeon Hunt (4/4) - Water Dungeon Key Card

Bring 1 Water Dungeon Key Card

Last task for Jack on the Halloween Festival (60, 123): bring him one Water Dungeon Key Card.

Walk south over the stars on the Halloween Festival to the purple gate (61, 40); it leads into the Water Dungeon. In its far north-west corner (35, 233) the dark water stirs: step into it and a Cave Monster rises. It is yours: if you or a member of your party who is on this task too lands the last blow, the card goes to them; if anyone else does (a friend helping you, say), it comes to you. Each character wins one card. The card cannot be traded, so win your own.

Once Jack has the card, the Death Witch on the Halloween Festival (44, 125) lets you into the Haunted Cellar. Your party leader opens it there for 200 Pumpkin Coins, and everyone who goes down, the leader too, must be level 90 to 275.

Needs: Task 3 done.
Gives: The Haunted Cellar: the Death Witch (44, 125) lets you in. Jack keeps the card.
Repeat: No: once per character.

Gives the Water Dungeon Key Card to whoever lands the last blow if that is the player who called it or a party member on task 4, and otherwise to the player who called it.

Their stats

On the Halloween maps, Haunted Cellar included, one attack of a player takes at most 20% of a monster's Max HP and 5% of a boss's, and one attack of a monster takes at most 70% of a player's Max HP.

Made for strong characters: even at level 275 these monsters hit hard and take a while to bring down, and every one of them attacks on sight. Bring friends: party members close by share the kills for Jack's tasks.

The party dungeon

The Haunted Cellar

Beneath the Halloween Festival lies the Haunted Cellar: 99 floors full of aggressive monsters, bosses on many floors, and the final hall at the very bottom. Like the Endless Tower, but harder.

Before you go in

Finish Jack's Water Dungeon Hunt first.
Come as a party; one player is enough. Your party leader opens the cellar at the Death Witch: the leader must be level 90 to 275, have finished the Water Dungeon Hunt and pay 200 Pumpkin Coins. Party members can trade their coins to the leader.
Stepping in is free. Every member who steps in must be level 90 to 275 and have finished the Water Dungeon Hunt too.
No waiting time: when a run is over, your leader can open a new one right away.
A run lasts up to 6 hours, and every monster inside is aggressive. Every monster in the cellar, the final hall included, can give you a Pumpkin Coin (2%) and a Halloween Coin 2026 (1%), within the hourly limit: 40 Pumpkin Coins and 20 Halloween Coins.
Fell, or coming down late? Talk to the Death Witch on the Halloween Festival to step in. The Death Witch at the start of the cellar then takes you straight to your party's current floor, or into the final hall, for free.
When nobody of your party has been inside for 5 minutes, the cellar closes and the run is over: your leader opens a new one.
While your party has a cellar open, nobody can join or leave the party, be removed from it or take over as leader, as on the official servers. Invite everyone before your leader opens it.

99 floors and the final hall

Each floor is a room full of monsters from all over Rune-Midgard, and every one of them attacks you on sight. Clear the room and the way down opens. Their strength follows the strongest member of your party and grows the deeper you go: Monster strength shows how much.

The final hall

Ashes of Darkness

The stairs after floors 25, 50 and 75, and the stairs from floor 99 into the final hall, each give every character one Ashes of Darkness (once per run). Keep room in your bag for it.

How hard it gets

Monster strength

Like the Endless Tower, the cellar gets harder the deeper you go, but the strength fits your party. This is exactly how the server sets it.

How it works

The strength follows the strongest online member of your party (at least level 90). It never drops during a run, so logging out a strong character does not make it easier.
Floor 1 is set to 85% of that level, rising step by step to 120% on floor 99. The final hall uses 120% with boss strength on top.
Every monster is aggressive: a whole room attacks you at once. Bring a party that can hold it.
The boss monsters of every 5th floor and of floor 99 get 15 times the HP (at most 2 billion) and 1.3 times the hit. On the other floors, every monster gets the strength of a normal one, even those that are bosses elsewhere (they stay immune to status effects).
Monsters keep their own element, race, skills and drops. Only their fighting numbers change, and every kind of attack hurts them: the few monsters that elsewhere take only 1 damage from melee, ranged or magic attacks (like Deep Sea Shellfish and Deep Sea Cornutus) do not here.

At a glance: one normal monster, by party level

The level that counts is the highest level among the party members who are online. ATK is the raw physical hit before your defence takes its part; a magic hit is about half of it, at most about 49,000 on average.

Floors marked Boss also have a boss among the normal monsters. All final hall monsters except the helpers (Mote, Flying Mote, Salem) are bosses: immune to status effects and knockback.

The last fight

The final hall

After floor 99 comes the final hall. A Zombie Dragon sleeps in its middle, and somewhere in the hall a lonely Poring hides. Defeat the Poring, and a squeaky voice sends her pets after you, wave after wave.

Wave 6

Nine mummies

Three Mummy II, three Paros Mummy and three Queen Mummy. All nine must fall.
Wave 7

Three Hel Necromancers
Wave 8

Three Zombie Dragons

One slept in the hall the whole time. Now it wakes up, and two more rise with it.

How strong they are

The final hall is the hardest fight of the event, made for a full party: every wave boss and the mummies are bosses (immune to status effects and knockback), and each of the three Zombie Dragons has about 13 times the HP of a monster on floor 99, up to 2 billion HP at level 275. They also fight dirty: between them they freeze, put to sleep, blind, turn to stone, curse, silence, confuse, stun, poison and make you bleed, and the Hel Necromancers and the Zombie Dragons can hit the whole hall. Bring status protection and someone who can cure. Their strength follows the strongest member of your party, like everything in the cellar. Pick that level:

Every wave is three times as big: three bosses (nine mummies in wave 6) plus helpers. The next wave only comes when every boss of the one before has fallen, and the treasure chest only when all three Zombie Dragons are down. The helpers do not have to die for the next wave to come, but they keep attacking.

Your reward

A treasure chest appears when the last Zombie Dragon falls. Every member of the party that won opens it once, also those who fell and step back in (the party as it is when the chest is first opened; whoever was not in it then gets nothing, and the cellar tells them so when they step in). Only those who went down before the Zombie Dragons fell count as clearing the run on the leaderboard. Each item is rolled on its own, you see your share, and 10 seconds later you are back on the Halloween Festival. The cellar collapses 5 minutes after the last dragon falls; you get a warning when 1 minute is left and again at 10 seconds. If your leader closes the cellar before then, whoever has not opened the chest yet loses their share.

Coins from the chest count toward the hourly limit (40 Pumpkin Coins, 20 Halloween Coins): close to the limit, the chest gives only what the limit still allows, and the rest does not come later. If your bag is full, make room and click the chest again before the cellar collapses: you keep the same share. The 7 costumes only won here are listed under Costumes.

Event currency

Coins

Two new coins drop all over the event, and both can be traded. Spend them on the Haunted Cellar and on new costumes.

Coin

Pumpkin Coin

Opens the Haunted Cellar: your party leader pays 200 for a run.

Coin

Halloween Coin 2026

Buys costumes from Catrina on the Halloween Festival (41, 107), 500 per costume. Last year's Halloween Coins don't count.

Where both coins come from

Purple Zombiering, Plant Soul and Fiend in Niflheim Christmas, and Emission Bat, Reaper and The Unknown in the Water Dungeon: 6% for each coin.
Every Wyvern King: 10% for each coin.
Every monster in the Haunted Cellar, the final hall included: 2% for a Pumpkin Coin and 1% for a Halloween Coin, and up to 10 of each from the treasure chest. A full run (about 10,000 monsters) gives a party about 200 Pumpkin Coins, enough to open the next one, as long as the hourly limit lets them through.
Limit: you find at most 40 Pumpkin Coins and 20 Halloween Coins in any hour, from all of these together, counted per account and per PC. The coins go straight into your bag. Past the limit nothing drops until the hour has passed; the chat window tells you when the next one can come, and My progress shows how many you found this hour.
Nothing else takes them: the Death Witch takes Pumpkin Coins for the Haunted Cellar, and Catrina takes Halloween Coins 2026 for her costumes. Both can be traded, stored and sent to other players.

What you collect

Event items

Every item of the event: what it is for, where it comes from, whether it gets used up, and whether you can trade or store it. None of them has a time limit of its own.

Wyvern King Key Card

For: Jack's 4th task in Halloween Prontera: hand it in and the Halloween Festival is open to you for good.
From: When one of the three Wyvern Kings of Niflheim Christmas falls, you and every member of your party close by who is on the last task each have a 4% chance at it, straight into the bag. Purple Zombiering, Plant Soul and Fiend give one very rarely, straight into the bag of the player who did the most damage; with a full bag, Jack in Halloween Prontera keeps it until you have room.
Used up: Jack keeps it when you hand it in, and he takes spare cards too.
Trade: Personal: it cannot be traded, dropped, sold, mailed or put in a cart or guild storage. Your personal storage keeps it; that storage is shared by every character of your account.

Water Dungeon Key Card

For: Jack's 4th Water Dungeon task on the Halloween Festival: hand it in and the Death Witch lets you into the Haunted Cellar.
From: Your own Cave Monster, called up at the dark water in the Water Dungeon (35, 233). The card goes straight into the bag of the one who lands the last blow if that is you or a member of your party on the same task, and otherwise into yours, so friends can help; if you cannot take it at that moment, it waits for you in the dark water. Each character wins one.
Used up: Jack keeps it when you hand it in. He takes spare cards too; while another character of your account is still on this task, he asks you to hand the card in with that character.
Trade: Personal, like the Wyvern King Key Card.

Pumpkin Coin

For: Opens the Haunted Cellar: your party leader pays 200 at the Death Witch (44, 125) for a run.
From: The six Halloween monsters (6%), Wyvern Kings (10%), every monster in the Haunted Cellar (2%) and its treasure chest (up to 10). At most 40 in any hour.
Used up: The 200 are taken only once the cellar has really opened.
Trade: Can be traded, put in a cart, stored and mailed, so a party can pool them.

Halloween Coin 2026

For: Buys Catrina's costumes on the Halloween Festival (41, 107): 500 each. Last year's Halloween Coin is a different item and does not count.
From: The six Halloween monsters (6%), Wyvern Kings (10%), every monster in the Haunted Cellar (1%) and its treasure chest (up to 10). At most 20 in any hour.
Used up: Catrina takes the 500 from your bag when you buy.
Trade: Can be traded, put in a cart, stored and mailed.

Halloween costumes (14)

For: Costumes with a special power: wear one upper, one middle and one lower costume at a time.
From: Seven from Catrina for Halloween Coins 2026; the other seven only from the Haunted Cellar treasure chest (5% per character per run).
Used up: Not used up: you wear them.
Trade: Can be traded and stored like other costumes.

Ashes of Darkness

For: For the Immortal Brazier in the Endless Tower.
From: The stairs after floors 25, 50 and 75 of the Haunted Cellar, and the stairs into its final hall: one each per character per run.
Used up: Used up by the Immortal Brazier.
Trade: The usual Ashes of Darkness.

14 new costumes

Costumes and their powers

Our 14 new Halloween costumes each have their own special power. Here is every costume, how it looks on your character, what its power does and where to get it.

How it works

Each costume has one power and no extra stats. You choose between your stat costume and a Halloween power.
You can wear up to 3 at once: one upper, one middle and one lower costume.
The chances are about the same as a normal card.
Powers work everywhere: against monsters and players, also in PvP, WoE and Battlegrounds. Boss monsters are immune to the status effects, and nothing gets pushed back in WoE or Battlegrounds.
7 costumes are sold by Catrina on the Halloween Festival (41, 107) for 500 Halloween Coins 2026 each. The other 7 can only be won from the Zombie Dragons in the Haunted Cellar: a 5% chance per character, every run.

When attacking means when you hit an enemy. When you are hit means when an enemy hits you.

Help

If something goes wrong

What to do after a disconnect, a death or a missing item. Still stuck? Log in and open My progress: it says what your character has to do next.

I logged out or got disconnected during a hunt

Your kills are kept: the game saves your character when you log out. Log back in and carry on; your quest window (Alt+U) shows the count. Only a server crash can lose the last few minutes of kills.

I died during a hunt

You wake up at your save point and your kills stay. The way back: the red gate in Prontera (156, 183) to Halloween Prontera, then its south gate (156, 28) to Niflheim Christmas. For the Water Dungeon, Jack in Halloween Prontera (164, 199) takes you to the festival, then walk to the purple gate (61, 40).

My kills do not count

Only kills of the monster your task names, made while that task is active, count. Check the quest window (Alt+U). In a party, only members close by when a monster falls get the kill.

I closed the talk before Jack gave me the next task

Talk to Jack again: he hands out the missing task right away. A yellow ! over his head means he has a task for you, a ? that you can hand one in.

Jack does not take my key card

He only takes it from your bag. Take it out of your storage first (any character of your account can take it out of your storage). The card cannot be traded, so win your own.

I found a Wyvern King Key Card before task 4

Keep it: Jack takes it as soon as he gives you task 4. Spare cards can also be given to Jack.

The dark water does not call up a Cave Monster

You must be on Jack's last Water Dungeon task without a Water Dungeon Key Card in your bag, and have room in your bag. Up to 5 Cave Monsters can be out at once, one per player: wait until one is defeated or sinks back (after 10 minutes), then step in again. Each character wins one card: once you have won yours, the water stays still until you hand it in. Take it out of your storage and bring it to Jack (60, 123).

Someone else defeated my Cave Monster

The card still comes to you: when the one who lands the last blow is not you or a party member on the same task, it goes into your bag. If you could not take it at that moment (offline, playing another character, or a full bag), it waits for you in the dark water (35, 233): make room and step in again.

I died or got disconnected in the Haunted Cellar

Talk to the Death Witch on the Halloween Festival (44, 125) to step in again, for free. The Death Witch at the start of the cellar takes you straight to your party's floor. When nobody of your party has been inside for 5 minutes, the cellar closes and the run is over.

My bag was full at the treasure chest

Make room and click the chest again before the cellar collapses (5 minutes after the last Zombie Dragon fell). Your share was rolled the first time and stays the same.

No coins drop anymore

You reached the hourly limit: 40 Pumpkin Coins and 20 Halloween Coins 2026 in any hour, per account and per PC. The chat window tells you when the next one can come, and My progress shows how many you found this hour. The coins are also spread over the hour: monsters give you at most 4 Pumpkin Coins and 2 Halloween Coins in any 6 minutes.

Part 2 of the festival opens later, and more content follows during the next 2 weeks. Happy hunting!
